October’s journal club will be a discussion of Alondra Nelson’s book The Social Life of DNA: Race, Reparations, and Reconciliation After the Genome. It’s a really interesting read about how race, history, and science intersect in the modern era. CaSP Co-President Marie Fiori will be leading the discussion over Zoom on October 15th, 5 pm CDT. Also, we’re giving away free copies of the book! Register for the event by October 12th at following link and you’ll receive information on how to get one: http://bit.ly/CaSPBookClub. Zoom meeting link here. Feel free to attend and listen in even if you haven’t read it!
