August 06, 2018: What does a policy career look like? – A conversation with Dr. Loren LaPointe

On Monday August 06, 2018, CaSP will be hosting a presentation by AAAS fellow Dr. Loren LaPointe. Dr. LaPointe is an alumna of UW-Madison (Integrative Program in Biochemistry) and she will be sharing her experience moving from a Ph.D. student to her current position as a AAAS Science and Technology fellow at the United States Department of Agriculture. The event will be held at 11:00 AM in Hector F. DeLuca Biochemistry Laboratories, room 175.

Loren LaPointe is currently a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the United States Department of Agriculture. She currently works in the Foreign Agriculture Service, aiming to use science to aid trade and food security. Dr. LaPointe received her Ph.D. from UW-Madison in biochemistry, working in the lab of Alessandro Senes. She then did a postdoc at Vanderbilt University in Chuck Sanders’s lab.
